Innovative Stormwater

Conventional stormwater management channels runoff from parking lots, roads, and buildings through culverts or hardened channels directly to streams. The water discharged from these systems has a much higher volume, velocity, and pollutant load than runoff from vegetated areas. This leads to increased bank erosion and pollution downstream. However, stormwater management does not have to rely on outdated techniques. Brushy Fork has ample experience in the design and implmentation of a variety of innovative stormwater solutions including rain gardens, stormwater wetlands, permeable paving, and regenerative stormwater conveyances. These stormwater solutions offer an educational opportunity for the public while improving landscape aesthetics and providing runoff treatment and storage.
