BFEC’s Engineering Division is currently seeking candidates for the position of Water Resources Engineer.
Job Description:
Water Resources Engineers provide engineering design and technical support to the various disciplines within the company. Water resources engineers will prepare site grading plans, erosion & sediment control plans, SWPPP’s, stream & wetland habitat restoration design, dam removal and rehabilitation design, and stormwater BMP’s. Support of these projects will include performing associated engineering calculations, assisting with site assessments, performing hydrological & hydraulic analysis, and preparation of engineering documents for project permitting and implementation.
All positions are expected to be multi-disciplinary, assisting fellow team members with tasks such as data collection, project implementation, environmental monitoring, and construction management as needed. The desire to learn new skills and to advance your current understanding of different environmental components is a must!

All skill levels are encouraged to apply for this position. Preferred applicants should have a relevant undergraduate degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field with a preference to those who have already passed the FE exam. Ideal candidates will be those with a background in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resource Engineering. Desired coursework, skills, and experience include: Proficient with AutoDesk Civil 3D and HEC-RAS, hydraulic modeling software
- Experience with GIS Analyses (ArcGIS or QGIS)
- Experience with GPS and total station survey technology
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Familiarity with state / federal regulations regarding water resources
