BFEC’s Engineering Division is currently seeking candidates for the position of Survey Technician.
Job Description:
Survey Technicians will collect topographic data using GPS, Total Station, and drone technology and will provide data analysis and visualization in Autodesk Civil 3D and ArcGIS software. Surveys include project existing conditions, construction layout, project monitoring and as-built certification. Survey Technicians are responsible for survey quality control and accuracy throughout the lifespan of the project.
All positions are expected to be multi-disciplinary, assisting fellow team members with tasks such as data collection, project implementation, environmental monitoring, and construction management as needed. The desire to learn new skills and to advance your current understanding of different environmental components is a must!

Minimum Qualifications:
All skill levels are encouraged to apply for this position. Preferred applicants will have an academic degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent experience. Desired coursework, skills, and experience include:
- Proficient with GPS, Total Station surveying systems
- Experience with drone technology for aerial photography and LiDAR data collection and analysis
- Proficient with AutoDesk Civil 3D and ArcGIS software
- Knowledgeable of concepts, principles, and methods used in measurement/determination of hydrological and topographical features
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and with survey crew
- Willingness to work in a variety of environmental conditions
- Ability to carry up to 50lbs of survey gear over long distances
